Does your tennis game have these symptoms: a general malaise, lack of joy, detachment, disappointment? When you step onto the court, do you ever feel it is like a dry wasteland and you have no pathway to victory? Have you tried these self-help remedies without success: practice, more practice, coaching videos, and tennis articles? Do you watch pro matches and come away with a sense of personal inadequacy?

If you exhibit any of these symptoms, then your game may be in need of a spiritual awakening.

What might this awaking look and sound like? Could it be a call to a higher consciousness and state of deeper mental awareness, a shift in your worldview and mindset, transforming you to a higher personal level?

Get thee a coach, reevaluate the purpose of tennis in your life, and commit to a changed life.

If this sounds like a personal, soulful awakening, it is. If these symptoms plague your personal and spiritual life like they do your tennis life, consider these words of Isaiah:

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19, NLT

Isaiah prophasied these words to tell of a restoration of Israel to the promised land, and restoration is what we may need to reawaken our sense of joy, gratitude, and awe—characteristics of a blessed life as a child of God.

Awaken today. Find God’s path out of the wilderness of your mind and the wasteland of a life lived outside of Him.
