You’re up at the net and a ball zings by you, headed down the middle—do you risk lunging for it or letting it pass to your partner? Or a lob begins to float over your head—do you go for it, even awkwardly, or will your partner cover it?

At my level of play there’s a lot of uncertainty with where my partner will be or should be (and the same for my partner with regard to my positioning).  Do I trust, believe, hope that he or she will be where I expect them to be?

There is one partner you can trust completely and unhesitatingly. It’s the partner who created you and knows your game plan for life. He is at your side at the net where life comes quickly and is covering you for the shots that are beyond your reach.

In the end, all will fail but The One. Consider this:

Today I will put my trust, my confidence—all of it—in God and not in man. God is God, man is merely man. Man cannot do what God does, so why look to man for what cannot be done? Yet, God in man can do all.

“It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man.”

Psalm 118:8

One key to this partnership of trust is communication. Talk to your partner. Listen to him. Pray.
