The right partner can make all the difference in doubles and there are many things to consider when choosing a partner. Skill level seems obvious, but compatibility may be even more important. Can you play as a team, do you communicate well, can you handle difficult situations, and can you find joy just by being on the court? Another consideration is your reaction to winning and losing. Is winning the most important part of your game? Can you bounce back from defeat? Do you support each other in the highs as well as the lows? And, what happens after the match? Do you go your separate ways or to you stay connected?
Do you see where I am going with this? Who is your spiritual partner in life? Do you even have one? Is your partner both a friend and someone who can work miracles? Think of all the matches you play in life. Who do you want beside you at all times?
